Jeremiah 44:25
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
The verse records the open, deliberate promise of the Jews, men and their wives together, to carry out their vows to worship the queen of heaven. What was spoken with their mouths was a settled commitment to perform what they had vowed, and what followed was action upon those promises.
Those vows pledged two specific acts of worship, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings to her. The people then fulfilled those vows with their hands, carrying them out in practice. Their vows were insincere toward God and showed their fixed choice of idolatry.
