Jeremiah 44:27

Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.

The warning was spoken to the men of Judah who had fled into the land of Egypt against Jeremiah's counsel to remain where God had placed them. Once in Egypt many of them turned aside to idolatry, forsaking the Lord for false worship. Against their schemes for safety and prosperity Jeremiah foretold utter failure, declaring that God would watch over them for evil and not for good. That hostile oversight meant they would be consumed by sword and by famine until there was an end of them.
