Jeremiah 44:4
Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate. Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.
God sent all His servants the prophets to Judah again and again, rising early and sending them with earnest entreaty not to do the abominable thing that He hates. The warning was repeated and urgent, a continual prophetic appeal against what was hateful to Him. Yet the people would not hear nor turn from their wickedness, refusing to listen and refusing to repent. Because of that persistent refusal His fury was poured out, kindled against the cities of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem until they were left waste and desolate.
