Jeremiah 44:6
Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day. Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.
The fury and anger poured forth upon Judah and Jerusalem brought their cities and streets to waste because the people disregarded God's repeated warnings sent through His prophets. That destruction came as the direct result of their persistent refusal to turn away from their wickedness despite those earnest appeals. The wasted and desolate condition produced by that judgment was still plainly visible at the time these words were spoken, standing as an ongoing witness to what disobedience had cost.
