Jeremiah 47:4
Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor. Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, and to cut off from Tyrus and Zidon every helper that remaineth: for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.
Jeremiah 47:4 belongs to a prophecy directed against Philistia. That prophecy stands in a series of prophecies against the nations, namely against Egypt, Philistia, Moab, Ammon, Damascus, and above all Babylon, occupying Jeremiah 46 to 51. The prophecy does not stand in chronological order in Jeremiah, the displacement having occurred when the manuscript rolls were gathered into one book without changing the teaching. Its chronological place, as shown by the chapter itself, is after Jeremiah 40-45 and before Jeremiah 46.
