Jeremiah 48:15

Moab is spoiled, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.

Jeremiah 48:15 belongs to Jeremiah's prophecies against foreign nations, found in the closing chapters covering his personal experiences and his going into Egypt. It pronounces doom and defeat on Moab, one of the kingdoms surrounding Israel. It declares that Moab would be spoiled, its cities overrun, and its chosen young men killed in battle. It foretells that Moab would fall before the mighty conqueror Nebuchadnezzar along with Egypt, Ammon, Edom, Damascus and Elam. The group of foreign-nation prophecies to which it belongs is especially directed against Babylon.
