Jeremiah 48:3

A voice of crying shall be from Horonaim, spoiling and great destruction.

Jeremiah 48:3 belongs to a section of Jeremiah containing prophecies against foreign nations, with chapter 48 concerning Moab. It stands among the closing chapters of Jeremiah the weeping prophet covering his personal experiences and his going into Egypt. Like the other prophecies in the book, it uses symbols and figures of speech. It foretells spoiling and great destruction in the fall of Moab before Nebuchadnezzar the mighty conqueror. Its warnings and appeals are applicable to the present day.
