Jeremiah 48:5

For in the going up of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the going down of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.

Jeremiah 48:5 belongs to the prophecy concerning Moab and its fall, standing among the closing chapters of the weeping prophet Jeremiah that cover his personal experiences and his going into Egypt. It portrays the calamity of Moab as unceasing weeping ascending the going up to Luhith, matched by a cry of destruction heard by enemies in the going down from Horonaim. The fall it foretells was a falling before Nebuchadnezzar, the mighty conqueror by whom Moab was brought low.
