Jeremiah 49:26
Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts. Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the LORD of hosts.
Jeremiah 49:26 stands among the pronouncements of doom directed against the kingdoms encircling Israel. In that setting it belongs to the prophecies concerning the nations that Nebuchadnezzar would overrun and subdue. Its plain sense is that on the day of the Lord's judgment the city's young men and all its warriors would be slain in its streets.
