Jeremiah 49:30
Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you. Flee, get you far off, dwell deep, O ye inhabitants of Hazor, saith the LORD; for Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath taken counsel against you, and hath conceived a purpose against you.
Jeremiah 49:30 belongs to Jeremiah's prophecies against the foreign nations, concerning nations that would fall before Nebuchadnezzar. The surrounding chapters address Egypt, Philistia, Moab, Ammon, Damascus, and especially Babylon. The verse warns the inhabitants of Hazor to flee, get far off, and dwell deep and hidden because Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken counsel and conceived a purpose to attack them. The larger passage of Jeremiah 49:28-38 was fulfilled when the Chaldeans under Nebuchadnezzar harassed the Arabs and nearly wiped out some of their tribes. Babylon's ancient empire in these prophecies also serves as a type of mystical Babylon.
