Jeremiah 5:4
Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God. Therefore I said, Surely these are poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God.
The poor and foolish are those who refuse to receive the truth, because they do not know the way of the Lord nor the judgment of their God. Such failure to know the Lord's way and judgment can be found even in those who have been long in the truth, perverting their ministry and rendering their influence unsaving. The verse is therefore a call for reformation among those who claim to understand their Bibles but are not doers of the Word, showing that those who claim to be the children of God need a thorough change wrought in them.
Those who disregard the Lord's cautions and shape others by their own judgment need the converting power of God to mold them after the divine likeness, so that their administration is changed and its spiritual influence is changed with it.
