Jeremiah 50:25

The LORD hath opened his armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of his indignation: for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans.

The opened storehouse and the instruments of wrath are the powers of nature, which the Lord controls and sends forth as tools of punishment upon those who oppose Him. The overthrow of Babylon in the territory of the Chaldeans was the doing of the Lord God of hosts, who drew out those instruments of His anger and turned them against her. That reckoning fell because she had crushed and mistreated Israel and Judah.

It fell also because in doing so she had contended not merely with men but with the Lord Himself. She was trapped as in a hidden snare, seized while unaware of her danger. The opening of the storehouse reaches beyond that ancient fall to the larger conflict at the close of earth's history, when God will once more draw out these instruments, including great hail.
