Jeremiah 51:6
Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’s vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence. Flee from the center of Babylon and rescue each life, lest sharing in her guilt means being destroyed with her in judgment, for the appointed hour has come for the Lord to take vengeance and pay her back in full. The command was given to captive exiles to leave Babylon behind rather than remain to perish under the punishment falling upon her sin. That departure and return to the promised land stands as a pattern for spiritual Israel in the last days. Those who reverence God are now to separate themselves from spiritual Babylon, and by divine grace they will at last stand secure in the new earth, the heavenly Canaan.
