Jeremiah 8:10
Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.
False prophets are exposed by the universal rule of covetousness from the least even to the greatest and by false dealing from prophet even to priest. Joined to the next verse, the mark is completed in that such prophets heal the hurt of God's people only slightly by speaking smooth falsehoods that proclaim peace where there is no peace. The description applies to the letter to the present religious world, where professed teachers of the people refuse obedience to the word of the Lord and lead them astray.
Those who commit abomination without shame or blushing will fall among those who fall and be cast down in the time of their visitation. This is especially fulfilled in rejecting the original memorial Sabbath of Jehovah that God blessed and sanctified and in honoring a spurious heathen idol sabbath exalted by man-made theories. While doing this they declare that the law of the Lord is with them and threaten with human laws all who violate Sunday.
The false cry of peace and safety pleases unconsecrated professors, as seen in the delusion of Spiritualism.
