Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised in the heart. Outward religious profession does not distinguish God's people when their hearts and conduct are unfaithful to Him. Those who claim to believe the truth but join the political parties and contentions of the age act like the circumcised mingling with the uncircumcised, and God condemns both groups together without distinction, the uncircumcised nations and the professed believers who mingle with them. By contrast, true children of God are sanctified by the truth and have a faith that works through love and purifies the soul.
