Job 12:14

Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.

In its setting the verse describes Job's own severe losses and helplessness endured under adversity. It teaches that God can break down what cannot be rebuilt and shut a person in with no opening, leaving a condition from which no human effort can restore what has been lost. Endurance in that bitter, prolonged trial stands as an example for people facing such trials.
