12:8Job 12:8
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
Speak to the earth and its creatures, even the fishes of the sea, and they will give instruction to human beings. They teach not merely as subjects to be examined but by what they are and what they do, uttering their lessons to all who give heed. Their lessons include patience and industry, perseverance under difficulty, provident preparation for the future, and confident trust in divine care. They also teach obedience. By their existence they declare that the hand of Jehovah has formed them, thereby revealing His wisdom and His might.
