He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
Job felt that God Himself had stripped away his glory and taken the crown from his head, leaving him without honor and dignity. That loss was not isolated but belonged to a wider anguish in which he felt unheard in his cries, afflicted by God's hand, and abandoned by his relatives and friends. Yet in the midst of that suffering and loss he continued to trust God and to hold fast to his faith and integrity. That trust included the affirmation that his living Redeemer would ultimately stand and that he himself would see God for himself.
