Job 20:17

He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.

The denial of seeing rivers and floods and streams of honey and butter occurs in Zophar's second speech, which describes the portion of the wicked. Those who held the other placed it in one of Eliphaz's speeches. As part of a friend's speech, it can be false or misapplied even though the book itself is inspired. Claims in the friends' speeches about God and Job are not automatically reliable but must be tested against other inspired declarations, because the Lord said the friends did not speak truthfully about Him or Job. It therefore does not establish that every sufferer is under God's displeasure.
