Job 22:30

He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.

The verse belongs to the third speech of Eliphaz, which accuses Job. It stands among Eliphaz's assurances about God's care, but those statements must be read with care, for what Job's friends said was often true in general yet was wrongly applied to Job's suffering. Its wording is left unexplained and no specific application is drawn from it. Statements in this speech cannot be accepted as reliable merely because they are recorded in Scripture; claims in Job 22 must be tested against other inspired teachings.

The verse is connected with the wicked being reserved for a day of destruction and brought forth for the day of wrath, which shows that the wicked must be resurrected. It shows the wicked are raised in the resurrection to damnation for the express purpose of being brought forth to the day of wrath to die the second death in the lake of fire. God purposes to make the pain of the second death greater for some than for others, and the resurrection gives each person a capacity for suffering exactly proportioned to the measure of torment assigned to him in dying the second death.
