Job 23:4

I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.

The verse expresses a longing to find God and to come directly before Him to present one's cause to Him. It is the confidence that one could speak openly before Him and fill the mouth with arguments, setting them out in full. This longing is voiced while unable to perceive God. Even so, there is trust that God knows the way taken, and that after being tested and tried the sufferer will come forth through trial as gold.

In the same way, when Christian parents earnestly seek God in prayer for their children, God will fill their mouths with arguments. For His name's sake He will work mightily in their behalf in the conversion of their children. He is just as ready today to listen to the petitions of His people as He ever was, and He does just as He said He would for faith that takes Him at His word.
