Job 27:14

If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.

Job 27:14 belongs to the debate between Job and his three friends on the subject of his afflictions, which forms the second of the four parts of the book of Job. That second part spans chapters 4 to 31 and consists of three circles of speeches by each speaker. The argument carried on through those speeches concerns the cause and object of human suffering. In that debate Job's friends generally state truths but misapply them to Job. Hence the warning that the wicked person's multiplied children are for the sword and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread is not a rule that suffering proves the sufferer is wicked.
