Job Sitting in Ashes with His Three Friendsby Peter
27:5Job 27:5
God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.
Job 27:5 is a resolve to hold fast to personal integrity till death and never to depart from strict uprightness in order to gain professional success. It forbids becoming a man of policy who sacrifices principle to win human favor, worldly gain, recognition, or bribes that lead to dissimulation and dishonesty. Danger lies in the first and slightest departure from principle, and valuing human favor above God's favor will certainly bring difficulties and loss of faithfulness to God.
It calls for being true, preserving God-given dignity in reverence and fear of God, and taking hold of the arm of Infinite Power and never letting go. It calls for cherishing God's truth in the soul and holding it in heavenly strength so that Satan cannot wrest it away, keeping integrity in the strength of Christ's grace. An honest and truthful physician can succeed because God and heaven are on his side, and Christ will fulfill His word to him.
