Job 30:22

Thou liftest me up to the wind; thou causest me to ride upon it, and dissolvest my substance.

The Hebrew word roo-agh is here translated wind. The verse stands within a larger debate over the cause and purpose of human suffering. Job was a real man who met his trial with patience. The claims made by his friends were often true as general principles but were wrongly applied to his case. Suffering itself is no proof that the sufferer lies under God's displeasure.
