Elihu Speaks Before Job and His Three Friendsby emmanuel_higgins

Job 32:17

I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

Elihu is announcing that he too will give an answer and declare his own opinion, stepping into the debate after Job and his friends have finished their argument. His words mark his decision to answer for himself and to state his own view once the others have spoken.

The line stands in the third of the four parts of the book of Job, the speeches of Elihu in chapters 32 to 37, coming after the prose prologue in chapters 1 and 2 and the debate between Job and his three friends in chapters 4 to 31, and before the speeches of the Lord out of the storm-cloud, with the prose epilogue in chapter 42:7-17 closing the book. It belongs to the instructive discourses of Elihu in chapters 32 to 36, which stand before God speaking to Job in chapters 38 to 41 in answer to Job's request that the Almighty speak with him as a man.

It is part of the book's record of Elihu's argument, not a claim that every statement made in the book is true.
