Elihu Speaks Before Job and His Three Friendsby emmanuel_higgins

Job 32:20

I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.

The saying belongs to the speeches or discourses of Elihu in Job 32 to 36, also reckoned as Job 32 to 37. Those chapters form the third of the four parts of the book of Job, distinct from the prose prologue and epilogue, the debate between Job and his three friends in chapters 4 to 31, and the speeches of the Lord out of the storm-cloud. The discourses of Elihu are instructive. The section running through Job 32 to 37 presents his argument and reproof to Job. His discourse does not seem to help Job much.

Elihu is eager and desires to speak and to open his lips or mouth and answer. He expects that speaking will bring him relief and refreshment. When stirring words strike a responsive chord in the heart, speaking back with a responsive echo brings refreshment to the speaker.
