Job 34:30

That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.

The verse belongs to the portion completing chapters 28 through 42 of Job, appointed for morning reading. Within the book it stands in the third division, chapters 32 to 37, which holds Elihu's argument and reproof to Job. In that setting it presses the lesson that man himself is not great while God is everything. To that argument Job makes no answer, and no comment is given upon it.

It teaches that a hypocrite must not reign, because the people would be ensnared under such a ruler. It must be studied as part of the whole book rather than taken alone.
