Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
God orders and governs the works of nature, arranging the forces of creation and directing the wonders of the clouds, the sky, and the weather, and causing the light of His cloud to shine. That light is lightning shining forth from the clouds. These works display His power and greatness, yet no one knows when He does them, which shows the limits of human knowledge and that their workings lie beyond human understanding.
Men cannot know or control these works in the sky, for their ordering and timing belong to God. Recognizing the bounds of human understanding should lead to reverence and humility before Him, calling men to consider Him with reverence.
