Job 38:20

That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?

It is one of God's questions to Job, asking whether he can take light and darkness to its appointed bound and know the paths to its house or dwelling. The bounds and course of darkness are appointed by God and belong to His ordering of creation. Human beings neither know nor control those paths and limits, showing that finite wisdom is limited and that God's works contain deep mysteries beyond human comprehension. Even continual searching and learning cannot encompass all that God knows.

As part of the questioning in Job 38-40, the verse shows that man was made last and took no part in the creation of the world or of anything that has the breath of life. Man was created after the image of God and Christ, so human fallacies are to be rejected for the Word of God.
