Job 39:1

Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?

God knows the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth and when the hinds calve, showing His knowledge of animal life whose timing lies beyond human control. The question is one of the divine questions that set forth the mysteries revealed in nature, which people of the greatest intellect cannot understand and the most profound scholar cannot answer. It was not asked to be answered, but to call attention to the deep mysteries of God and to teach that human wisdom is limited.

Even in the surroundings of daily life there are many things beyond the comprehension of finite beings. God is to be acknowledged as much from what He does not reveal as from what is open to limited comprehension. Mysteries in both divine revelation and nature call for faith in His infinite power, where there is always an infinity beyond searching, inquiring, and learning.
