Job 39:11

Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?

Job 38–40 is God’s own testimony about creation, standing as His Word against human fallacies. Within that testimony the question is put whether the great strength of the wild ox is sufficient ground to trust it with human work. To leave one’s labor to it on account of its power is presented as the issue to be decided.

That question belongs among the mysteries of nature that human wisdom cannot fully answer. It exposes the limits of finite understanding when faced with God’s works. Before such mysteries the proper response is faith.
