Job 39:13

Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

The question about the peacock and the ostrich stands within God's own account of the animals He created. Their varied wings and feathers are part of His workmanship, and living creatures owe their existence to Him and not to human beings. The question also belongs among divinely inspired questions about nature that human beings cannot fully answer. It points to mysteries in the natural world that expose the limits of human wisdom and turn attention to God's greatness. Such mysteries are not placed before people to be solved completely, but to teach acknowledgment of God both in what He reveals and in what remains beyond human understanding, calling for faith and continued learning.
