A Rearing War Horse and Wild Donkeys in the Desertby emmanuel_higgins

Job 39:8

The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.

The wild ass lives under God's ordering, with the range of the mountains appointed as its pasture where it searches out every green plant. As part of Job 39, this arrangement displays God's creative power and His care for the natural world.
This verse stands among God's questions concerning the mysteries He reveals in nature, mysteries that men of the greatest intellect cannot understand and that the most profound scholar cannot answer. The question was not asked in order to be answered, but to call attention to God's deep mysteries and to teach the limits of human wisdom, showing that in the surroundings of daily life there are many things beyond the comprehension of finite beings. In both divine revelation and in nature God has given such mysteries to command faith. He is to be acknowledged as much for what He does not reveal of Himself as for what is open to limited comprehension. Skeptics refuse to believe in God when they cannot comprehend the infinite power by which He reveals Himself, yet men may be ever searching, ever inquiring, ever learning, and still there is an infinity beyond them.
