Job 39:9

Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?

The inquiry about the wild ox willingly serving at the stall belongs among the divine interrogations that direct the mind to the mysteries of Jehovah displayed in the natural world. Those mysteries stand beyond the grasp of even the keenest intellect and the most deeply learned scholar, who can neither fully comprehend nor satisfactorily answer them. Their presence in nature is a deliberate revelation of depths that exceed finite reasoning.

The question is posed not in expectation of a human reply but to fix attention upon the profound hidden things of God. Its purpose is to impress the limitation of human wisdom and to make plain that ordinary surroundings of daily life contain many realities that finite beings cannot comprehend. What is familiar and near at hand still holds what the mind cannot master.

From both what God discloses and what He withholds, trust in His boundless power is required. The unrevealed leaves an infinity still beyond, appointed for endless searching, continual inquiry, and perpetual learning.
