Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
Finite man is not qualified to instruct God, to contend with Him, to rightly challenge Him, to reprove Him, to sit in judgment on His plans, or to arraign Him to pass sentence on His works, but he who does so must answer to Him. This is because man was made last and took no part in creating the world or anything that has the breath of life. Man was created after the image of God and Christ, and must therefore reject men's fallacies about God.
God's questions expose human limits and call people to recognize that many of His works and purposes are beyond their understanding. God is infinitely wise and just and good and holds supervision over the universe, yet men know hardly anything of His mysteries. His plan for the redemption of the human race is not comprehended even by the wisest of earth, and beyond the utmost of human thinking and reasoning lies an infinity that will take all eternity to unfold.
Those who think themselves competent to weigh and measure the counsels of divine wisdom do not know even the A B C of higher education, and though they discern only a little of God's marvelous power they take the glory that belongs to the Creator. Man must become a fool in his own estimation and show becoming humility. If the veil were removed and the greatness of God's plans were seen, every mouth would cease its boasting.
