Leviathan Rises Breathing Fire From the Seaby emmanuel_higgins

Job 41:27

He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood.

The verse belongs among the questions God asks concerning the mysteries He reveals in nature, mysteries that even persons of the greatest intellect cannot understand. Those questions were not posed to be answered, but to call attention to the deep mysteries of God and to teach that human wisdom is limited and that in the surroundings of daily life there are many things beyond the comprehension of finite beings. The verse displays the infinite power by which God reveals Himself. God is to be acknowledged as much from what He does not reveal about Himself as from what is open to limited comprehension. In both divine revelation and in nature God has given mysteries to command faith, so that people are ever searching, ever inquiring, and ever learning, and yet an infinity still lies beyond.
