Job 5:8

I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:

The counsel to turn toward God and place one's case in his hands belongs to Eliphaz addressing Job. As words from among Job's friends, the assertions involved are for the most part correct in themselves yet were wrongly directed against Job's situation. Mere inclusion in the book does not establish such statements about Job and about God, so they require examination in light of inspired testimony given in other parts of Scripture.

The afflicted and the oppressed may approach God and leave their cause with him. God is characterized by abundant tender mercy and brings comfort to those in mourning.
