The arrows of the Almighty are words driven home to human hearts by the Holy Spirit with divine power. Clear and convincing human reasoning on its own cannot break up prejudice that has already resisted a great weight of evidence. When the Spirit empowers such words they become sharp arrows that convict hearers of terrible guilt for rejecting and crucifying the Lord of glory.
