Job 6:8

Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for!

In the depth of his affliction and darkness Job pleaded for God to grant his request and give him the thing he longed for, which was to die. He thought that death would bring him comfort. His words are the cry of despair from one overwhelmed by sorrow. Yet his later trust in God and renewed hope prove that this despair was not the end of his story.
