Jonah Cast Up on the Shore by the Great FishBible World
2:10Jonah 2:10
And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
The Lord spoke to the fish and it expelled Jonah upon the dry land, bringing him safely out of the fish and out of the perils surrounding him in the mighty deep. This casting forth belongs to the severe affliction by which God taught Jonah obedience and enabled him to fulfill God's purpose for Nineveh.
Through these trials God revived Jonah's confidence in His power to save and renewed his determination to obey, whatever the personal cost. With penitence and recognition of God's saving grace comes deliverance, as when Jonah was released from the perils surrounding him in the mighty deep and cast upon the dry land.
