Joshua Calls Israel at the Jordan Riverby GrahamWeir
1:10Joshua 1:10

Joshua acted at once upon the commission given him, issuing commands through the officers of the people to prepare them for the journey toward the promised land. The order set the whole host in motion for the advance that lay immediately before them. That preparation was to be made ready for a journey of three days. With that general readiness, the men of war were to hold themselves in readiness and go out to battle. In response the people pledged themselves to obey Joshua in all things just as they had obeyed Moses. They urged him to be strong and courageous, with the Lord his God with him as the Lord had been with Moses.
