Joshua 11:2
And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west, And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,
The verse belongs to the record of the conquest of Canaan that follows the victory at Beth-horon, standing together with Joshua 10:40-43 as part of the account of Joshua's victories. It identifies the northern kings who joined the coalition against Israel by their districts north of the mountains, on the plains south of Chinneroth, in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west. That northern league was led by Jabin king of Hazor and assembled as a vast army near Lake Merom before Israel defeated it.
