Joshua 11:20
For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses. For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.
Joshua 11:20 belongs to the account of Israel's defeat of the northern Canaanite alliance gathered against Joshua. In that engagement the Lord delivered the allied forces into Israel's hand, and Israel put them to rout in decisive victory. With the triumph came a divine prohibition against keeping and using the captured horses and chariots, for Israel's confidence was to rest in God and not in acquired military strength.
