Joshua 11:23
So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war. So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
Joshua took the whole land in accordance with everything the Lord had said to Moses, completing the conquest as promised. The conquest of the southern country belonged to this taking of the whole land, and the victory was won because the Lord fought for Israel. Joshua then gave the land to Israel for an inheritance, apportioning it according to their divisions by their tribes.
The verse marks the close of the conquest of Canaan, coming after several years of war when Joshua had become master of the land. After this the land rested from war. This completion shows the fulfillment of God's promises to Israel, with not one good thing He had promised failing to come to pass.
