Joshua 11:3

And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.

The peoples and districts listed in the verse made up the northern Canaanite coalition that rose against Israel, including Canaanites east and west, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Jebusites in the mountains, and Hivites under Hermon in Mizpeh. That alliance was united under the leadership of Jabin, king of Hazor. The confederated tribes assembled together as a great host near the waters of Merom to oppose Israel's advance. Israel defeated them there, and in obedience to divine direction burned their chariots and hamstrung their horses instead of keeping them for use in battle.
