Joshua 11:5
And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel. And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
The gathering of the kings came after Israel's earlier successes in Canaan. Those who assembled were the northern Canaanite kings, joined in a league under Jabin, king of Hazor, for the purpose of fighting against Israel. When met together they came with their armies and pitched together at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel. That place was a broad, quiet body of water identified as likely Merom. The host they brought, many people together with horses and chariots, was larger than any force Israel had yet faced in Canaan.
