Joshua 14:11
As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in. As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
Caleb declared that he was as strong on that day as on the day Moses sent him to spy out Canaan, his strength then and now being the same for war and military service, both to go out and to come in. He spoke this when he was eighty-five years old, forty-five years after Moses had sent him. His lasting strength and vigor in old age show that God had preserved him through the years of wandering in the wilderness and through the battles in Canaan. His faith in God's promise had sustained him through those wilderness years, keeping his strength and courage to fight unimpaired.
Relying on God's help and strength, he conquered the stronghold of the Anakim giants at Hebron. He deliberately chose that difficult stronghold so that his example would encourage Israel to take possession of the land. In God's strength he took the stronghold of the giants and received as his own the land he had explored.
