Joshua 15:6
And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben: And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:
Joshua is the first of the twelve historical books, named for Joshua who wrote part of it. It records the history of the chosen people from their first occupation of the land of Canaan as a nation to the return from the captivity. The verse stands among the closing chapters of Joshua, belonging to the conquering of the Canaanites and the division of the land, and coming after Achan's sin and its fearful consequences.
It is part of the account of the distribution of the land in chapters 13 to 22, which is based on written documents accurately describing tribal property. It is part of the division and settling of the Promised Land among the tribes in chapters 11 to 21. That division also shows Israel's lack of faith and slowness. That division ends with the assurance that God did all He had promised and none of His good words failed.
