And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Beth-shean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.
The verse stands within the part of Joshua that records the distribution of the land of Canaan among the tribes. That distribution was carried out by means of written documents that set forth the property with accuracy. The allotments described there assigned particular towns and territories to each tribe as its inheritance.
