Joshua 17:16

And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Beth-shean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.

The children of Joseph objected that the hill country allotted to them was not enough for them, because the land of the valley was held by Canaanites who possessed chariots of iron. Their protest was not a true lack of territory but an unwillingness to face the toil and danger required to conquer what had already been given to them, seeking additional territory instead. That desire for more without conquest revealed a lack of faith and courage on their part. God had pledged His power to Israel, so the iron chariots gave no ground for fear, and with His help they could have driven out the Canaanites from the valley.
